Prior to incorporation as a company in 1976, she started as a speed boat building contractor for The Borneo Company who was then the dealer for Johnson Outboard Motors for Malaysia. After having acquired the experience as a contractor, Mr. Godfrey Yin decided to start a partnership with Mr. Chang Sam to build fiberglass boats full time in 1978. The partnership was named Freycraft Industries and Marine Services. However two years later, Mr. Chang decided to venture into other field and left the partnership. Mr. Godfrey Yin stayed on as sole proprietor until February 1980 when she was incorporated in Malaysia into a company Freycraft Marine Industries Sdn Bhd.

The first boat was a 14 footer speed boat. The company was operating from a boat yard with a covered area of 800 sq. meter in Inanam until 2005 when she move to a bigger land with a covered area of 1500 square meters at Kg. Gayang, Jalan Sulaman, Tuaran. Today she is producing boats up to 55 feet Catamaran designed in house.
